Dedicated to Ace Frehley, who passed away on the very day this performance was recorded, Lifandi is Bjørn Riis’s deeply personal tribute to one of his lifelong musical heroes, and to the golden age of classic live rock.
Raised on the legendary live albums of the 1970s, Riis channels that spirit into Lifandi, a title meaning “alive” in Old Norse. The album captures the raw energy and emotional immediacy of the stage, bridging the timeless essence of progressive rock with the introspective depth of his acclaimed 2025 studio album Fimbulvinter. Recorded during Riis’s 2025 European tour, this carefully curated mini-live album presents powerful performances
of the epic title track “Fimbulvinter” and the haunting lead single “Gone”, alongside fan favourites “Getaway” and “Where Are You Now”, both originally featured on the 2017 album Forever Comes to an End. These performances are not mere reproductions; they are elevated, expanded, and charged with the dynamic intensity that only a live setting can provide.
Lifandi features Bjørn Riis on vocals and guitar, Simen Valldal Johannessen on keyboards, Arild Brøter on drums, and Øystein Sootholtet on bass. The album is mixed and mastered by Vegard Kleftås Sleipnes, ensuring a rich, warm, and dynamic sound that honours the tradition of classic live recordings while delivering modern sonic clarity.
